' Love Birds' // Works on Paper

February 12, 2026

The 'Love Birds' series returns as a quiet reappearance of a motif that’s always felt close at hand. These pieces revisit the familiar pairings with a softer, more about announcement, more about presence. There’s something comforting in bringing them back, like opening a window to a space you already know well. The birds settle into the compositions naturally, holding that gentle sense of calm and closeness that first drew me to them.

For me, connection has never been about grand gestures; it’s about subtlety—the lean of a form, the way two shapes echo each other, the feeling of shared space. The birds embody that idea. They sit side by side, distinct yet clearly attuned, suggesting that real connection lives in the in-between moments. It’s that quiet dialogue, that unspoken understanding, that continues to guide this series.

Color is where the conversation deepens. Each palette is chosen with intention, letting tones play off one another in a way that feels both effortless and considered. Soft contrasts, warm notes, and unexpected pairings give each duo its own mood while still belonging to the same family. The result is a balance: individuality alongside harmony, structure softened by feeling—an atmosphere that invites you in rather than asking for attention.
