I recently spent some time on Cumberland Island off Georgia’s southeast coast. Cumberland Island is a little island, approximately 18 miles long. It has some of the most magical undeveloped beaches on the East Coast, where the horses roam freely and the birds float contentedly on the water.
While on Cumberland, I started painting birds on watercolor paper. I've been working on my bird series in the studio which up until now have all been larger works on canvas-- so this is a fun, new part of the series!
I'll be releasing 10 birds on paper as part of my next release. These are so special to me because they remind me of my time on Cumberland. I hope when you look at them they bring you the calm, peaceful, happy feelings I felt on the Island.
